The armed wing of Hamas announced on Wednesday that 10-month-old Kfir Bibas, along with his four-year-old brother and their mother, has tragically lost their lives during the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
The claim by al-Qassam brigades is currently being checked by the Israeli army, and Reuters, who reported it, has not been able to independently verify the claim at this time.
The Bibas family, who were being held hostage, had been advocating for their release. Kfir, the youngest of around 30 children taken hostage, was abducted from the Nir Oz kibbutz alongside his older brother Ariel, their mother Shiri, and father Yarden. This heartbreaking incident adds to the human toll of the ongoing conflict in the region.
