On Tuesday, one week after the Summer House community was rocked by the revelation that Amanda Batula and West Wilson are dating, Bravo dropped a sneak-peek trailer for the show’s spinoff series, In the City, which premieres in May. The spinoff, which includes Batula and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Kyle Cooke, as main cast members, was filmed in the fall, so you might assume it doesn’t give us any insight into how this union happened. Wrong! Sure enough, the trailer includes one very flirty-looking interaction between Wilson and Batula, which is one more data point for the Wilson-Batula evidence wall.
“Hey, cutie,” Batula greets Wilson in the trailer. He responds, “Hey, Mandy!” — a suspiciously intimate pet name for someone who’s just a friend — and goes in for a big hug. I hope Ciara Miller wasn’t at Hermès when this came out.
The trailer provides no further hints as to when Batula and West first started, shall we say, exploring their connection, but it does promise some insight into the final days of Batula’s marriage to Cooke. She already confirmed that she and Cooke began living separately in November, and the trailer shows them getting serious about divorce. (At one point, Batula notes that they don’t have a prenup, but “if you come for me, I’ll come for you.” Cooke responds, “That would be a losing battle.”) Something tells me West will be a frequently recurring guest?
