Sometimes Tina Knowles writes something on Instagram that just makes you want to yell “Moooom!” on her daughters’ behalf. Case in point: On Tuesday, Solange Knowles posted photos of an edgy new haircut — very short with a grid pattern shaved into the back and the top — and her mother responded by lavishing praise on her while also giving everyone a little too much information.
“You look like an Egyptian goddess,” Miss Tina wrote under her daughter’s post, adding, “which is appropriate because you were conceived on a boat going down the Egyptian Nile.” What a fun fact! Tina breezed right on past this revelation, writing that only Solange “could shave your hair let it grow out some and cut this incredible shape and do it all and look as gorgeous as ever.” No lies told.
Solange, like many of us, is probably used to her mom oversharing on the internet by now. Thanks to Tina Knowles, I also know that Solange was born ten days late and once neglected to tell her mother about her Webby Award. We can all thank Tina for this valuable life lesson: You can get the coolest haircut ever and your mom will still find a way to embarrass you online.
