WATCH – WELCOME HOME: A plane carrying 240 new immigrants from India’s Bnei Menashe Jewish community landed Friday evening at Ben Gurion Airport, as Israel continues a wider aliyah effort to bring thousands more members of the community to the country in the coming years. The Bnei Menashe, most of whom come from India’s Mizoram and Manipur states, are believed by supporters to descend from one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.
They are part of a government-backed aliyah plan approved in November 2025 that aims to bring roughly 5,800 more community members to Israel by 2030. The group was welcomed at the airport by Aliyah and Integration Minister Ofir Sofer.
