A week after he was arrested in connection with the death of his father, Isak Andic, Jonathan Andic is stepping down from his role at Mango. The fast-fashion brand’s board announced in a press release that Jonathan is temporarily leaving his post as vice-chairman of the board for Mango Fashion Group, while maintaining his innocence. The board said it has “full confidence that the legal proceedings will be resolved favourably and trust that this will happen as swiftly as possible.”

In an open letter, per The Guardian, Jonathan disputed the “one-sided” narrative he says the public has received about his father’s death, which he said has been “taken out of context and distorted” and “created a perception of guilt that bears no relation to reality.” He added that debunking the rumors “will require time, effort, and intense dedication.”

Isak, Mango’s billionaire founder, died in December 2024 after falling several hundred feet from a cliff while on a hike with Jonathan. The death was originally ruled an accident but was reinvestigated in March 2025. By the autumn, Jonathan was officially ruled a person of interest in the case, after allegedly giving inconsistent statements to police.

Following Jonathan’s arrest, an Andic family spokesperson told The Guardian that they will continue to respect the investigation and cooperate with authorities: “They are also confident that this process will be concluded as soon as possible and that Jonathan Andic’s innocence will be proved.”
