Terror Group Expands Attempts To Target IDF Forces, Eyes Larger Attacks – The Yeshiva World

Israel’s defense establishment has identified signs in recent days that Hezbollah is stepping up its efforts to attack IDF forces operating in Lebanon, including through the planting of explosive devices, as Israeli operations continue along the Ali al-Taher Ridge.

According to a Channel 12 report, security officials believe the development could escalate further, with Hezbollah potentially considering more significant attack methods that it has so far refrained from using. The terror group is understood to be aware that such an escalation would likely trigger a significant Israeli response.

The developments come as the IDF continues operating in southern Lebanon and destroying Hezbollah infrastructure. Hezbollah, meanwhile, has responded in a relatively limited manner as diplomatic efforts continue surrounding the situation along the northern front.

A security official cautioned that the current situation should not be mistaken for lasting calm.

“The temporary quiet in the north is deceptive, and we understand that it could also be disrupted at the urging of outside actors,” the official said. “We are preparing accordingly.”

Meanwhile, a source close to Hezbollah told Saudi outlet Al-Hadath that the terror group has no intention of handing control of the Ali al-Taher Ridge over to the Lebanese Armed Forces.

“We would rather Israel destroy Ali al-Taher than hand the site over to the Lebanese army,” the source said.

According to the source, the area contains “large facilities belonging to Hezbollah,” some connected to one another and others situated separately. The source added that beyond its military importance, the Ali al-Taher Ridge also carries significant morale value for Hezbollah.
