NO ZIONISTS WITH MY HUMMUS: British Man Makes Jewish Vendors Disavow Zionism

A young British man named Alex posted a dilemma he was having that illustrates the discrimination Jews who are perceived to be Zionists are facing.

In his video statement, he said that he was “heartbroken” over hearing rumors that the owners of his favorite hummus truck were “massive Zionists,” and now he didn’t know what he would eat. For reasons he did not explain, hummus was the only food he could eat.

He said that he decided to check it out for himself, and although the food truck was decorated with little Palestinian flags, he felt he still had to ask them to disavow Zionism so he could continue buying from them, which they readily did.

Being asked to disavow your Zionism so you can continue your career or be allowed to do other things is the new way to exclude Jews from polite society.

“Some Jewish people in the U.K. are being discriminated against and being falsely accused of being massive Zionists, as in big supporters of the Israeli ethno project out there and the genocide,” he said. “I was at a festival recently, and some person came up to me in the crowd, and it was like, ‘Alex, I follow you on Instagram,’ because obviously I do these posts, right, about Palestine. And they’re like, ‘You know that hummus truck that you’re queuing up for? Hummus, like. that’s owned by massive Zionists,’ and it was my favorite hummus truck.”

Alex said he wasn’t willing to take someone else’s word for it, which is why he decided to “fact check” the claim by confronting the owners, who told him they were Jewish but hastened to say they weren’t Zionists.

Alex cautioned his viewers not to discriminate against the right sort of Jews who aren’t Zionists and to keep fighting for Palestinian rights, because they’re the ones suffering from discrimination.

Critics point to the international support Palestinians enjoy and the increasing isolation of the Jewish people and Israel that they say belie this assertion.
