An Israeli Poet Whose Repetitions Echoed a Life of Pain


Hedva Harechavi, the unique and daring Israeli poet who died on January 1, was born on Kibbutz Degania Bet 84 years ago. Her work incorporated the spirit of that community near the Sea of Galilee, a passionate love for the Hebrew language and the heritage of poetry, and the traumas she suffered as she grew up on the kibbutz.
