Backlash Grows After Tucker Carlson Raises Anti-Semetic Conspiracy Claims About 9/11 • Jewish Breaking News

A growing backlash is mounting against Tucker Carlson after viewers and analysts accused the former Fox News host of echoing long debunked antisemitic narratives in recent commentary, including insinuations about the September 11 attacks that critics say mirror extremist rhetoric from both the far left and far right.

The controversy centers on Carlson’s apparent rhetorical pivot away from positions he was long known for during his time at Fox News, toward claims and implications that critics argue minimize the role of Islamist terrorism in 9/11 while gesturing toward conspiracy theories involving Jews or Israel. Those tropes include false claims that Jewish Americans stayed home from work on September 11 and the myth of the so called “dancing Israelis,” who were apparently seen dancing outside the 9/11 ruins by the bridge. Assertions for which no credible evidence or verified video has ever been produced. The remarks drew particular scrutiny because they were made during Carlson’s most recent episode released this week, prompting renewed concern over the direction of his commentary.

Historians and terrorism experts have repeatedly debunked those narratives, noting that while there is documented footage of public celebrations in parts of the “Palestinian” territories following the attacks, there is no substantiated evidence supporting claims of Jewish or Israeli foreknowledge or involvement.

The criticism intensified after Jewish Breaking News obtained a Foreign Agents Registration Act FARA filing indicating that Qatar paid to facilitate an interview between Carlson and Qatar’s prime minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. According to the filing, the arrangement included pre approved talking points focused on Iran and regional policy.

While foreign governments routinely conduct media outreach, critics argue the disclosure raises questions about Carlson’s recent shifts in tone and subject matter, particularly given Qatar’s well documented geopolitical interests and its relationship with Islamist groups.

Online detractors have increasingly likened Carlson’s trajectory to that of Candace Owens, who has faced her own controversies over comments widely criticized as antisemitic. Some commentators have gone further, reviving a derisive nickname, “Tucker Qatarlson,” to suggest undue foreign influence following Carlson’s departure from Fox News and the underwhelming performance of his independent ventures on X.

Carlson has not responded directly to the specific allegations regarding antisemitic tropes or the implications of the FARA filing. Supporters insist he is merely challenging mainstream narratives and engaging in independent journalism, while critics warn that “just asking questions” framing can launder dangerous conspiracies with a long history of fueling antisemitism.
