Barry Keoghan Denies Cheating on Sabrina Carpenter

After his breakup with Sabrina Carpenter, Barry Keoghan took a break from social media to rumors that he alleged he cheated on Carpenter. “There’s a lot of hatred towards me for looking like this,” he explains on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast. Benny Blanco, who co-hosts the podcast with Lil Dicky and his wife, Kristin Batalucco, empathizes with Keoghan over the negative comments and tries to offer him another perspective on finding humor in the criticism — Blanco showed off a gifted key chain of his “dirty feet” and carried it around proudly. But for Keoghan, the comments affected him so deeply that he no longer wanted to attend public events, especially when they turned toward calling him a cheater amid the Carpenter breakup. “I stopped going to events. I stopped socializing,” he says. “There was a narrative out there that was never really sort of even spoken on, a narrative that’s not true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it. And I just disappeared.”

The Saltburn actor shares that influencer Breckie Hill, who had implied that she had hooked up with Keoghan, later retracted her statement, saying she had never met him. But the tabloids did not pick up the latter part of her confession, he says. At the time, he didn’t want to “pile on” to the situation by addressing the rumors, for fear of sending his attackers to someone else. At the height of their breakup, Keoghan asked fans to be “respectful” toward him, as people were harassing his grandmother and intimidating his son. Hopefully, by the time his Beatles movie comes out, everyone will learn that all you need is love.
