Barak Orland is an Israeli businessman living in Uganda for over a decade. He runs the company Bar Aviation, is considered close to President Yoweri Museveni, who has ruled for 40 years, and has taken part in numerous defense deals in that East African republic. In May 2012, he became a surveillance target. An unknown actor used what was then cutting-edge technology to pinpoint his phone as he walked across Istanbul’s Atatürk Bridge.
