A fake website impersonating Haaretz published a fabricated story last week claiming that Ukraine had asked Israel to help trace a private jet loaded with gold belonging to an ally of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The disinformation operation has reached hundreds of thousands of users on social media and echoes previous attempts to misuse the Haaretz brand to spread false information.
