Fresh IDF footage has exposed the tense final moments before Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was eliminated in Rafah’s Tel Sultan district, with military recordings capturing the chaotic pursuit through southern Gaza’s streets.
The newly published recordings catch soldiers calling out their targets in real-time, using coded language as they track multiple armed suspects. “One additional ‘dirty’ was eliminated,” a soldier announces. “A terrorist on the first floor, wrapped in a blanket… he is still alive among us.”
Another soldier’s voice cuts through the chaos, “One escaped with a Kalashnikov, all the others with grenades, “when another suddenly shouts “There’s a grenade!” Gunfire erupts, followed by the single word: “Eliminated.”
Sinwar’s death came after IDF forces identified three Hamas terrorists moving through the area. After troops opened fire, the terrorists separated, with Sinwar entering a building alone. An IDF tank then struck the structure, followed by drone surveillance. In subsequently released footage, a masked figure identified as Sinwar was seen attacking the surveillance drone with a stick before the tank fired again.
Subsequent DNA testing confirmed the identity of the Oct. 7 mastermind.
