
Go up a small flight of stairs, and behind a Jerusalem-style wall and gate, and you would have heard hear lights and sounds that are hard to mistake. Tucked for 15 years into 40 square meters on a century-old stone floor, Video Pub became an institution. For years, it was the only entertainment venue in Israel’s capital to explicitly serve the LGBTQ community. It closed in late June once its owners – who opened several other prominent nightlife spots in the city – grew fatigued.
