Israeli music superstar Omer Adam was spotted alongside international pop icon Shakira at Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain.

Adam is one of Israel’s most successful and recognizable singers, known for blending Mizrahi, Mediterranean and modern pop music while regularly selling out some of the country’s largest venues.
Shakira is a Colombian-Lebanese global superstar best known for hits including “Hips Don’t Lie” and the World Cup anthem “Waka Waka.”

Her appearance alongside Adam may surprise some Israeli supporters because Shakira previously faced controversy surrounding Israel. In 2018, anti-Israel BDS activists launched a pressure campaign demanding that she cancel a rumored performance in Tel Aviv. When the concert did not happen, BDS organizations publicly celebrated it as a victory and thanked Shakira for supposedly refusing to perform in Israel.

However, there is no clear evidence that Shakira personally endorsed the BDS movement, and she has previously visited Israel, praised the country and promoted coexistence between Israeli and Gaza.
