A preliminary investigation into the tragic explosion on Ramim Ridge in northern Israel indicates that one of the hikers found a piece of military ordnance and placed it inside his backpack. The item subsequently exploded.
The explosion occurred during an approved school trip near Kibbutz Yiftach and Manara, claiming one life and leaving approximately 19 others injured.
