Rawan Osman: From Antisemitism to Embracing Judaism

Posted by: Jewish Digital Times | Date: 05/01/2025

Raised in Syria and Lebanon, Rawan Osman was indoctrinated with deep-seated antisemitic beliefs from an early age. Her worldview began to shift dramatically after she moved to France in 2011. There, a chance encounter with Orthodox Jews challenged everything she had been taught. This pivotal moment set her on a path of research and introspection, ultimately leading to her conversion to Judaism.

In a moving episode of PragerU’s “Stories of Us”, Rawan shares how she transitioned from hate to harmony—redefining her beliefs, values, and future. She now serves as a vocal advocate against Islamist extremism and promotes normalization between Arab states and Israel. Osman is involved in cross-cultural dialogue organizations such as Sharaka, and has addressed audiences at global venues, including the United Nations Human Rights Council.
