IDF commanders demanded that reservists suffering from psychological injuries report for duty, and in some cases even threatened them with arrest. The soldiers, who were admitted to the Defense Ministry’s Rehabilitation Department due to mental health conditions stemming from the war but had not yet undergone a medical committee review, said they explained their situation to their commanders, only to be told that failure to report would be considered absent without leave.
