Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, 75, is currently undergoing significant surgery to remove his prostate, along with several minor procedures, under full anesthesia. He is expected to remain hospitalized until mid-week.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Yariv Levin is serving as acting Prime Minister during Netanyahu’s surgery recovery. Katz has been granted authority to convene the Security Cabinet if needed.
The government will remain operational as Netanyahu recuperates.
