Gal Gadot’s Has to Boost Her Security After Death Threats Linked to Pro-Israel Stance Amid “Snow White” Backlash

Disney has reportedly enhanced security measures for actress Gal Gadot following a surge of death threats linked to her pro-Israel stance. The 39-year-old Israeli actress, who also served in the IDF, known for her role as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action “Snow White,” faced increased threats after her co-star, Rachel Zegler, posted a pro-Palestinian message on social media.

In August 2024, Zegler, 23, shared a message on X (formerly Twitter) promoting the “Snow White” trailer, concluding with “and always remember, free palestine.” This post reportedly caused internal concern at Disney, leading executives and “Snow White” producer Marc Platt to address the situation directly with Zegler. Despite these interventions, Zegler declined to remove the post.

The aftermath saw a spike in death threats directed at Gadot, prompting Disney to fund additional security for the actress. An insider noted that Zegler “didn’t understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, for anyone.”

Further complicating matters, Zegler’s social media activity has been under scrutiny. Following anti-Trump comments in November 2024, Disney enlisted a “social media guru” to vet her posts prior to the film’s release.

The tension between the co-stars extended beyond political disagreements. After a joint appearance at the 2025 Oscars, Zegler referred to Gadot as a “professional pageant queen” on Instagram, a remark considered dismissive by insiders and believed to have contributed to their strained relationship.

These controversies have overshadowed the release of “Snow White,” which debuted on March 21, 2025 and is as a huge flop at the box office. With a budget of over $250 million, the remake is a long way from profit, as it only raked in a dismal $43 million domestically.

Amid Snow White’s embarrassing box office opening, an old video of Zegler claiming, “People will wait in line” to see her films, has resurfaced online. The clip was shared on X by the Other View Podcast co-host Ian Miles Cheong along with the message, “Prior to Snow White’s release, actress Rachel Zegler told her critics that audiences would wait in line to see her. Snow White is the lowest performing Disney movie in decades. No one waited in line to see it.”
