A devastating Iranian ballistic missile strike on Haifa has reduced a multi-story residential building to rubble, with four people feared trapped beneath the debris as rescue teams work frantically through the night.
Fire and Rescue commander Kobi Mizrahi described the scene as the most severe in his district since the war began, citing the scale of destruction and the complexity of the rescue effort.
“From the standpoint of this war, this is the most severe scene in our district until now, including the scope of the destruction, the complexity, and the casualties,” Mizrahi said.
Large rescue forces—including firefighters, police, the IDF Home Front Command, and Magen David Adom—are racing to locate and extract the four missing individuals, who have not made any contact.
Home Front Command chief Maj. Gen. Shai Klapper confirmed the missile made a direct impact on the building, creating an extremely dangerous and complex operation.
“This scene is a complex one. This complex scene requires advanced rescue operations… We intend to act with determination, professionalism, and thoroughness until the trapped are found,” he said.
As the hours pass, the effort has become a desperate race against time, with rescue teams continuing nonstop in hopes of reaching the trapped victims alive.
