LOS ANGELES — Federal authorities are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of an unidentified individual who allegedly opened fire on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during a federal operation in Ventura County, California.
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 2:26 p.m., during the execution of a federal search warrant involving multiple law enforcement agencies. The confrontation unfolded on Laguna Road, between Wood Road and Las Posas Road, in an unincorporated area of Ventura County, north of Los Angeles.
According to the FBI, the unknown subject appeared to draw a pistol and fire at agents engaged in an ICE operation at several local farms. No injuries were reported, but the incident prompted a swift and heavily armed law enforcement response, including a temporary lockdown of the area.
Surveillance images released by the FBI show the suspect wearing a gray hoodie and a dark face covering, holding what appears to be a handgun. Authorities say the suspect fled the area on foot and remains at large.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, but officials say the suspect appeared to be protesting or attempting to interfere with the operation. The FBI is treating the case as an assault on a federal officer, a federal felony offense.
“This was a brazen act of violence against federal law enforcement officers,” said FBI Los Angeles Field Office Assistant Director-in-Charge Donald Alway. “We’re asking the public to help us identify and locate this dangerous individual before someone gets hurt.”
