Liberman outlines his path to victory

Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman outlined what he believes could be the path to victory in the elections. According to Liberman, the key is to shift five or six Knesset seats from the coalition bloc, rather than engage in an intra-bloc battle and “steal seats” from other opposition parties.

Liberman also stressed the need to increase voter turnout and avoid divisive issues. He said opposition parties should focus on expanding their support rather than battling one another.

Addressing calls for opposition parties to declare now that the leader of the largest party will be their candidate for prime minister, Liberman said this would be a “serious mistake stemming from a lack of political experience.” He argued that such a commitment could result in lost votes.

Liberman added that each party should be allowed to maximize its electoral potential. “We must allow each party to maximize its electoral potential – therefore, we must all run to the finish and present our candidacies for prime minister,” he said.
