The Saudi foreign minister argued that lasting regional security requires a political settlement that provides both Israelis and Palestinians with security and stability, reiterating Riyadh’s support for a two-state solution.
Bin Farhan called on countries that have not recognized a Palestinian state to do so, presenting recognition as part of a broader diplomatic effort to advance a negotiated settlement.
Saudi Arabia continues to point to the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant United Nations resolutions as the framework for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Riyadh has maintained that establishing diplomatic relations with Israel would require meaningful progress toward Palestinian statehood, while Israeli officials have opposed international moves they argue would reward Hamas following the October 7 attacks.
