Tel Aviv-born Top Chef in London: ‘It’s Best Not to Say the Word ‘Israel’ Right Now’


Good things are supposed to be easy to get used to. But when it comes to the growing ties between Israeli chefs and the Michelin Guide, the surprise has yet to wear off. Following Amsterdam-based chef Moshik Roth and his two historic stars, chef Gal Ben Moshe earned a star for his Berlin restaurant Prism, then lost it after closing the restaurant; Gilad Peled earned two stars for his Colonnade restaurant in Switzerland; Erez Ohayon with his La Bottega del Buon Caffe in Florence; and the most recent stars: Matan Zaken who earned a Parisian Michelin star for his restaurant NHOMe; Assaf Granit with a star for Shabour and Eyal Shani for his New York restaurant Shmoné.
