I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want to share my pregnancy journey with you guys. The internet can be a weird place, especially for moms or soon-to-be moms. I’ve always had an idea or plan of sorts for what I’m doing and sharing after the baby is here but never really any about the journey beforehand. When friends and family were asking me when I would announce to the world, I kept saying “ideally never.” The fear and anxiety about sharing paralyzed me.

And I’m not totally sure why because nothing has ever happened to me, but I have a lot of friends in the space and I’ve heard the stories about what can go down. The mom-shaming and unwanted opinions can be overwhelming and I’m just not really interested in that. What I am interested in, is sharing how I’m feeling openly and honestly without fear of what people (I don’t know) will say. So putting everything out there on the blog or on Instagram just opens up my pregnancy to whoever in the world chooses to read it. And that kind of open-ended audience is not one I can contain.

I think my original plan was to keep things very surface level and not really go into anything too open/revealing but I think it kind of does a disservice to those of you who truly support and care for me and the blog, and for those who are also pregnant. I know I was craving a sense of community with those who are going through the same thing. So leaving out the opportunity to do the same here with you guys just feels wrong.

It came down to how can I share with the right group of people? With the people who want to hear from me? And how can I make it all a little less anonymous and more of a community? So I came up with a newsletter. That way those who want to hear about my journey can, and those who don’t can avoid it. In addition to the newsletter, there will also be a private Facebook group to join that will be invite-only from the newsletter. So we can have a little group of people who are in/or close to the same stage in life sharing their journey as well.

So if this is something that you’re interested in being a part of, you can fill out the sign-up form here.

The newsletter and Facebook group will be for the more personal side of things but the blog will still have content here as well. Things like clothing, products, reviews, nursery planning, and more surface-level things of that nature. So it’s up to you and what you think is best! If you want to join, great, and if not, that’s fine too. Either way thanks for taking the time each day to follow along!
